Beach Gallery and Beach Lodge

Beach Gallery and Beach Lodge are adjacent log buildings designed to resemble an Adirondack hunting camp. The structures were built in 1960 using timber from the Museum founder's 50,000-acre northern New York preserve. Beach Gallery was rebuilt in 2008 using dead standing timber from near Glacier National Park in Montana. The trees were damaged by forest fires in 2003. In addition to providing timbers for the gallery, removing the logs reduces the fuel on the forest floor and the likelihood of another fire.

Beach Gallery exhibits paintings, prints, and bronzes by artists depicting the North American wilderness, including Carl Rungius (a hunting companion of Theodore Roosevelt), Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait, and Sydney Laurence.

Beach Lodge exhibits hunting trophies, furniture and woodcarvings.

The buildings are named for William and Marie Beach, donors of many of the artworks and artifacts on view.
